There are many issues involved within educational technology. Those issues range from educational, cultural, societal and legal/ethical. Because technology is so advanced it makes it harder for teachers to effectively integrate it, the issues stated often arise. Technology can help societal needs, as well as create new issues. Technology can also be a dangerous tool if used inappropriately and improperly.

Today's generation uses social media. Websites such as: facebook, Instagram, twitter, etc. A lot of people often take social media to extreme. Cyberbullying is a huge issue of today. Cyberbullying is online harassment in social networks.
Many people think because it is their device that whatever they do on it is for their eyes only, that is false. Things such as GPS, makes it possible to pinpoint exact location. Schools use radio frequency identification to track students attendance and whereabouts. Malware, hacking, spyware and viruses are all softwares that can destroy, spy on operations, and gather information.
Technology used for educational purposes can be an issue because some schools may not have the funding. Also, it is argued that students began to rely on online learning and debates on best practice with technology arises.
Hacking, piracy, illegal downloads and academic dishonesty can all fall under the category of legal and ethic issues. When using technology in education you can sometimes see things such as plagiarism. Technology also has many issues of illegally downloading things such as music, movies, and more.
