Instructional Technology

My personal definition: Instructional technology is the usage of many different technological tools to help advance in learning.

I personally believe that when teaching the uasge of technology has a big imapct on the audience's attention span. Incorporating short clips, powerpoint slides for examples, and audio sounds can make the lesson more interesting, thus making the cocnept easier to grasp.

PERSPECTIVES ON EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY

Perspective 1: Educational Technology as Media and Audiovisual Communications

DIRECT standards that relate to my perspective are the technology and effective teaching/assignment strategies. Technology is the core part of this lesson. Another important part is how it used to effectively teach. Both these standards go hand-in-hand.

This perspective grew out of the audiovisual movement in the 1930's. Audiovisual is also known as AV. Thisperspective suggested that media like slides and films delivered information in a more effective way than lectures and books.

This perspective relates to my personal view because they both focus on audiovisuals to help the learning process. Instead of long lectures and boring books to read, this perspective focues on using audiovisuals to teach more effectively. If a teacher uses things such as audio books the author can change voices with each character. Another example, a professor with a long lecture can incorporate slides with short video clips, images, or even small summaries of what they're. By doing so the lesson is not so drawn out.

Two Technological Eras that relate to my view would be the Pre-Microcomputer and Internet Era. The Pre-Microcomputer Era had terminals what were multimedia learning stations capable of displaying animation and video. The Internet is sort of a broad era and what is expected. The Internet itself is a place where you can find help to every thing.

NET STANDARDS

I believe that my views will impact me in a positive way when I become a teacher. This view is one that will help me as a teacher because I can have a kind of guide to help with my lectures. It will be good for my students because they will be able to learn the material, the way the information will be taught will be a way that they'll be able to retain.
